We are proud to be one of the leading providers of IB education in the UK. We run a thriving and supportive MSc programme in IB, alongside dynamic and engaging undergraduate degrees in IB and Management and IB and Economics. Our department enjoys a strong sense of community and has a growing presence at Academy of International Business conferences such as AIB UK and the AIB World Conference.

Our academic team includes dedicated scholars who regularly publish in leading journals, including the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of World Business. We specialise in applied, impactful, and policy-relevant research in economics and international business, with a focus on international trade, global value chains, regional and urban economics, internationalisation, innovation, taxation and competition. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research complements these areas of expertise.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing research environment, and we invest significantly in resources such as ORBIS to support our work. A background in quantitative analysis will complement the department’s research strengths. In addition, we are home to the Centre for Business Prosperity, and you will have opportunities to actively participate in its collaborative projects and supportive network.
