Gen-AI and data analytics researcher – KTP Associate

Computer Science & Digital Technologies

Location:  Netwatch Global Limited, Floor 19, Alpha Tower, Suffolk Street, Queensway, Birmingham, B1 1TT
Salary:  £40,000 per annum
Contract Type:  Fixed Term (36 months)
Basis:  Full Time

This KTP project aims to develop innovative AI and data analytics tools for Netwatch Global to enhance efficiency and reduce fraud in the insurance industry. The main objectives include automating data analysis, flagging fraudulent activities, and providing automated advice to users.

Key focus areas of the project are:

  • Multimodal data analytics and annotation 
  • Semantic linking of data 
  • Natural Language Processing for textual data
  • Generative AI for dynamic information processing and user interaction 

By addressing these areas, the project seeks to build an internal business capability that optimises processes, improves fraud detection, and offers advanced AI-driven solutions for user interactions and data management within the business.

Candidate Profile: A minimum of a MSc in Machine learning and/or Artificial Intelligence with demonstrable level of expertise in project and research execution.

Essential skills/ experience required include:

  • A robust knowledge and demonstrable project experience in multimodal data analytics; machine learning and generative AI
  • Experience in automatic annotation and semantic linking of multimedia assets.
  • Demonstrable experience in past projects within the field of machine learning, multimodal data analytics is essential.
  • Experience in Natural Language Processing.

Desirable: 

  • Technical publishing skills, i.e., track record of publications in the field of AI (Machine Learning), gen-AI and multimodal data analytics.

Personal attributes:

  • An aptitude to learn and solve technical challenges.
  • The capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills for transferring technology insights from Aston
  • into Netwatch Global.
  • Skills in documentation, report writing and presenting for a range of

audiences, as well as knowledge of the project management tools and techniques

  • Professional integrity, high standard of work and reliability

The Company: NWG is an open-source intelligence company, delivering data and intelligence to improve decision making in the Insurance, Corporate Risk, Law Enforcement and the Public Sector as a "managed service" or as SaaS (Software as a Service). Aston University: You will work in a project team with Dr Amal Htait and Prof Abdul Sadka at Aston University and the Senior Management Team at Netwatch Global Ltd with the support of the IUK-KTN’s Knowledge Transfer Adviser.   

Location: You will be based predominantly at Netwatch Global in Birmingham. Some travel to key clients may also be required.
