Aston Law School is seeking an experienced legal practitioner to join us as a Senior Fellow in Legal Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the delivery and development of Aston Law Clinic, contribute to SQE‑aligned teaching on our Masters in Law and Legal Practice (LLM), and assist the development of professional legal skills across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The postholder will bring substantial experience from practice to support client‑facing clinical work, supervise students, contribute to skills‑based teaching (including SQE preparation), and help strengthen Aston’s engagement with the legal profession and community partners. The role is particularly suited to a practitioner motivated by education, access to justice and high‑quality experiential learning. Some key responsibilities' are listed below :

  • Supervise and support students working on live client matters in Aston Law Clinic
  • Contribute to clinical legal education and SQE‑aligned teaching across LLB and LLM programmes
  • Support the effective operation and development of the Law Clinic, in line with professional and regulatory standards
  • Build and maintain links with legal professionals, firms and community partners
  • Maintain a current practising certificate and ensure regulatory compliance

You will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with a current practising certificate, significant experience in legal practice, and a clear aptitude for teaching, supervision or professional training. You will share Aston’s commitment to widening access to the legal profession, equality and inclusion, and high standards of professional education.
