Aston University is seeking a motivated and well-organised Research Administrator to join the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a thriving research environment and to support projects that have real-world impact.

In this role, you will provide dedicated operational support to the College’s Research Office, working closely with academic leaders and professional services staff to ensure the smooth running of research activity. From coordinating committee meetings to maintaining accurate records for external reporting, your work will help underpin the College’s strategic ambitions.

You will be a key point of contact for colleagues on research processes and policies, ensuring that information is clear, accurate, and accessible. As the postholder will also help manage research-related systems and communications, support postgraduate research students, and liaise with internal and external partners such as research centres, institutes, and funding bodies.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment, can balance multiple priorities, and brings strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others. A background in administration, ideally in higher education or research, would be an advantage.

At Aston, we are proud of our inclusive and supportive culture. We value staff wellbeing, professional development, and work-life balance, and we are committed to equality, diversity, and sustainability. This is a great opportunity to develop your career in university research administration within a dynamic and ambitious College.

If you are enthusiastic about supporting high-quality research and enjoy working with people at all levels, we would love to hear from you.
