The Marketing & Entrepreneurship Department within Aston Business School has 36 staff within it, specialising in marketing, entrepreneurship and business enterprise.

The Marketing & Entrepreneurship Department currently manages and delivers two successful and popular undergraduate and BSc Digital Marketing starting in 2026/2, as well as two postgraduate programmes. The Department also supports a range of programmes at all levels across the School and Aston University. We mainly deliver teaching in Birmingham, but also at our Aston London Campus and on-line programmes.

As part of our growth strategy, we have expanded our Digital Marketing related modules and programmes. We are therefore seeking to recruit a Lecturer with teaching and research specialism in Digital Marketing, who also can contribute to other modules taught in Marketing.  The successful candidate will be an inspirational and highly motivated perspn who can contribute to the development of the Department’s research, teaching, citizenship and Postgraduate Research supervision.

There is a thriving teaching innovation and research culture in the Department, which has a strong reputation for being both rigorous and relevant. The Marketing core research areas include services marketing management, consumer behaviour and AI.

We are looking for people with applied/empirical research skills, REF returnable, a natural collaborator with others, and a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ attitude. We seek individuals to play key roles in developing research in the Department that will attract external funding/research council income and create impact from high profile external engagement.

We are keen to grow the above listed current research foci of the department, to strengthen our research profile, impact generation and business/policy support provision. The successful candidate for this role will play a key role in these developments and will be expected to play a leadership role in one of more of these endeavours.

You will have a good first degree, a Masters degree, relevant professional qualifications and PhD, teaching qualifications (or willing to undertake the PGCert) and experience. It would also be desirable to have industry experience in a Marketing role if this has been part of your career to date.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, talented, gregarious team-player to take a role in supporting the growth of an excellent Department.
