An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Engineering for Sustainable Development Research Centre at Aston University for 12-month fellowships for three Early Career Researchers from Jordan.
The fellowships are funded by the British Council under the UK’s International Science Partnerships scheme. The fellowships programme aims to provide the selected early career researchers with a strong foundation to improve their careers in research and innovation to respond to the developmental needs of Jordan.
Fellows will be undertaking research projects in the areas of Energy Systems with AI and Smart Grids. The programme will further include industrial mentorship and career development mentorship integrating best practices in pastoral care, mentoring, equality diversity and inclusion.
The Early Career Researchers (ECRs) should be residents of Jordan, have a PhD in a relevant discipline, will not have held a permanent academic post or a post with a research-related element, or one which allowed them to supervise PhD students or submit research grants as a principal investigator. Time spent in teaching-only roles or academic related roles does not affect ECR status, provided no research element was part of the role.
Participants from for-profit organisations cannot be funded.
Applicants should currently not receive financial support or funding towards any other programme in the UK from any other sources.
