Due to the success of our Business Enterprise Development programmes based on the Team Academy model of entrepreneurship education originating in Finland, and as part of our commitment to develop the entrepreneurial skill base of local, national and international students, applications are invited for a new post as a Lecturer in Business Enterprise Development – Team Coaching. This post will involve curriculum delivery through the Team Academy inspired model of team coaching rather than teaching.

We are seeking candidates who are flexible, creative and committed to life-long learning, and who have experience of business and/or community engagement particularly at start-up stage.   You should be able to evidence your ability and desire to support ‘learning by doing’, team-based approaches to learning and working as part of a collaborative team of coaches.  This could be through academic or teaching background experience, and/or it could come from working in industry.

As we are looking to grow the scholarship and research in the field of team coaching in pedagogic contexts, you should have some experience of engaging in research and publication, although this need not be in an academic context if you are an industry practitioner.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of, and commitment to, working with learner-centred, enquiry-based and practice led pedagogic approaches.  You will have developed innovative learning materials and programmes and provided comprehensive pastoral support to participants of learning programmes.

You will have the ability to support a range of team coaching based learning activities and, through commitment to excellent teaching, scholarship and citizenship, you will add to our local, national, and international business and community engagement work. You will need a good first degree in a relevant subject area or be able to demonstrate excellence in coaching, as well as holding, or being committed to obtaining, Senior Fellowship of the HEA.

This is a full-time position but part-time working arrangements will be considered.

Informal enquires about this post may be made to Dr Elinor Vettraino, Head of Department: Work and Organisation, Director of Aston Centre for Enterprise, Coaching and Innovation by telephoning 07731 489797 or via email: e.vettraino@aston.ac.uk.
