This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fun, friendly, and hardworking Careers and Placements team at an exciting time. We play an important role in Aston’s recently launched 2030 strategy with plenty of opportunity for growth and innovation. Well known for being pioneers of placement programmes and currently runner up for University of the Year for Graduate Prospects (Sunday Times, 2023), our work centres around the delivery of outstanding graduate outcomes and equipping business and communities with the skills for the future. You will collaborate with like-minded colleagues, develop new skills, and be a part of a supportive work environment that values diversity and inclusivity.

We are seeking two highly motivated individuals to join our busy and friendly Placements Preparation team. You will be responsible for facilitating and supporting increasing numbers of students into work experience opportunities in the UK and overseas, creatively overcoming students’ barriers and challenges. You will have responsibility for your own student cohort and will market placement opportunities to them, both virtually and face-to-face, in order to stimulate demand and deliver student preparation activities, including skills development workshops.

You will need to enjoy working under pressure and achieving targets. This is a hands-on role that requires an enthusiastic and innovative individual. You must be able to think on your feet, work independently but also as part of a team with the ability to empower and inspire students.

There are x2 full time positions available for this role.

The salary being offered for this role does not meet the minimum threshold required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker visa route. For candidates who do not already have a Skilled Worker visa, it is unlikely that Aston University will be able to offer sponsorship under this route. Please click here to see the Home Office guidance for more information.

If you are already in the UK with an existing Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa, please contact hr_immigration@aston.ac.uk to discuss if the role will meet the eligibility criteria for Skilled Worker sponsorship.
