A key enabler of our continued success and is driving value from our supply chain partners through strategic and high quality procurement. As Aston University’s Head of Procurement and Value, you will lead the University’s Procurement Strategy and Procurement Team, engaging across the University and with external partners. Your focus will be on quality, innovation, and value and you will have a proven track record in leading strategic procurement in large, complex organisations.

Leading a team of procurement professionals, this role will review, shape, and implement procurement strategies, polices and processes across a varied range of procurement activities including capital development, facilities, IT contracts and highly technical scientific equipment to support our world-class research. You will contribute to Aston’s strategic aims and objectives, with particular focus on value for money, sustainability, and social value, as well as monitoring and improving non-pay efficiency and contract compliance so that all categories of spend are actively managed. 

The successful candidate will have a CIPS qualification. You will also have extensive procurement experience, including knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations, compliance practices and procedures gained at senior management level in a higher education institution, public or private sector organisation(s). You must have a proven track record of proactively leading and developing teams to deliver change, implementing procurement strategies, policies, delivering value for money, and influencing senior management and stakeholders.
