This role will sit within the School of Psychology and the Institute of Health & Neurodevelopment at Aston University. The post holder will work closely with Emma Sang, Simulation Lead Nurse at Birmingham Women’s & Children’s NHS Trust.
The role will involve working closely with the Simulation Education team at Birmingham Women’s & Children’s NHS Trust to evaluate the simulation service provided to staff. Simulation-based Education is offered to all multidisciplinary staff across the Trust. The service is relatively new in its current Trust-wide format so the team has come together to evaluate it. The post holder will be conducting that evaluation. This will involve working with the team to analyse existing data including attendance numbers on simulation sessions, feedback from attendees, and materials used in simulation sessions. We will also be gathering new data from Trust staff through online surveys and individual interviews. We will test out outcome measures with staff to determine their appropriateness for longer-term evaluations to ensure evaluation is embedded within the service as it goes forward.
The post holder will have a Bachelors degree and Masters qualification (or equivalent) in psychology, health or social science discipline. They will have experience of gathering and analysing research data and ideally be familiar with NHS settings. They will need to proficient in clear communication, both for working with the wider simulation team, but also when recruiting and collecting data with Trust staff. We will expect them to be proficient in written and oral communication for the dissemination of findings through reports and presentations. Experience working with Qualtrics would be advantageous.
