Engineering Systems and Supply Chain Management has one of the UK’s leading faculties for Supply Chain Management teaching and research. Part of the School of Infrastructure and Sustainable Engineering, within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, we apply an engineering perspective to Supply Chain Management, also collaborating with colleagues across the University, including in Business and Social Sciences.
We offer a range of degrees and study modes. Our work-based and apprenticeship programmes deliver close relationships with some of the biggest names in sectors including manufacturing, automotive & 3PL, providing outstanding opportunities for collaboration.

The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s research, teaching, and external engagement, including through -
- Research projects, proposals, & publications; supervising student projects; collaborating internally and externally on research
- Teaching/providing support to students at all levels of study, and carrying out associated processes; contributing to programme design and content; innovating in delivery and assessment; engaging with quality assurance
- Supporting students on industrial placements; delivering research impact; pursuing opportunities for industrial engagement; enhancing the University’s reputation with professional bodies
We are looking for someone with qualifications and practical experience in Supply Chain Management, with a particular focus on supplier engagement, relationship management, and the commercial agreements which underpin these.
The ability to work with a range of learners, including those on non-standard programmes is an important attribute, as is the desire to contribute to a positive, collegiate environment, building good relationships with students, industry partners and colleagues.
