Aston Medical Research Institute (AMRI) is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Project Manager to assist the Project Coordinator in running an exciting collaborative EU training project, “Innovation in Placenta Modelling” (iPLACENTA). The project, a Horizon 2020 EU Innovative Training Network coordinated by AMRI, comprises ten beneficiaries and six partners across eleven European countries and will start on 1st Jan 2018.  iPLACENTA involves the training of 15 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) in a multidisciplinary environment to improve modelling of placenta function to advance maternal and fetal health.

The Project Manager will be expected to efficiently organise the research programme and associated researcher training programme. This work will include organising, coordinating and reporting on the project, carrying out marketing activities and tracking finances. Strong project management skills together with excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved. The Project Manager will play a major role in delivering the project management actions, including training of ESRs in efficient project management. Experience of managing large projects is essential, ideally a previous EU Innovative Training Network, as is a willingness to travel overseas.

The Project Manager will report to Dr Colin Murdoch based in the new Aston Medical School at Aston University, UK.

This is a unique opportunity to undertake a challenging project management role on a multidisciplinary EU project at Aston Medical School.
