We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic press and PR officer to raise the profile of Aston University and help to enhance its reputation. 

As part of a small team, you will support the head of brand reputation and events in raising the profile of Aston University, its research and the achievements of its staff and students to external and internal stakeholders on a local, national and international level. 

This will include planning and carrying out press and media campaigns in line with the strategic priorities of the University, responding to media enquiries, cultivating relationships with journalists, and having frequent contact with staff at all levels across the University.

The role will involve researching, writing and distributing press releases and expert commentary. Working closely with academics, the postholder will be expected to proactively seek out excellent stories from within the University. 

With a proven track record in building relationships with journalists you will have a dynamic and proactive approach with an eye for a good story.
