Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist – KTP Associate

This role is an exciting opportunity for an MSc/MRes graduate to take on a strategic project with the support of mentors from Quest Pharm, Aston University and Innovate UK. The project will  develop a robust formulation methodology to support the formulation process for medicinal and cosmeceutical products, that will optimise targeted and controlled release of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and multiple drug administration methods. 

This position is a 24 month fixed term contract, with up to £4000 dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development and future career.

Candidate Profile: You will have MSc (or preferably PhD) in Pharmacy or a related discipline (or equivalent). We are looking for candidates with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulations including material properties of excipients & analytical techniques with technical/ data analysis. 

Key skills/ experience required include:

The ideal candidate will have a strong problem solving and analytical skills and experience.

  • Strong organisation and communication skills in order to take ownership of the project and ensure it progresses to achieve the agreed objectives.
  • Interpersonal skills to work closely with Quest Pharm UK staff across all functions to embed the skills through collaborative working.
  • Communication skills to be able to present project progress across the company.

Personal attributes:

Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in a multidisciplinary project team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong organisational skills to take project ownership, co-ordinate work-streams and achieve agreed objectives.

Self-motivated & confident with good persuasion & negotiation skills.  Fit in with the organisational culture and present a positive image of the company to clients.

Aston University: You will work in a project team with Professor Afzal Mohammed and Dr Dan Kirby at Aston University, and the technical team and senior management at Quest Pharm.

Location: Quest Healthcare, Unit 5 Mount St Business Park, Mount St Birmingham, B7 5QU. Some travel to key clients may also be required.
