An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Postgraduate Student Support team in the College of Business and Social Sciences.     

You will be responsible for providing full and comprehensive support to the large cohort of international Postgraduate students within Aston Business School and the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, including answering student queries at the student reception desk, responding to email correspondence and telephone enquiries from students and staff within the College, disseminating information relating to students’ courses, maintaining up-to-date and accurate student records on the University records system (SITS) and processing requests for student transcripts and status letters from students, employers and other sponsoring organisations.  

You will act as first point of contact for students who are experiencing difficulties with their studies and you will also be involved in servicing Student/Staff Consultative Committees and Examination Boards including setting agenda, taking detailed notes and writing minutes of meetings.   In addition you will provide administrative support for the Aston Global Advantage Professional Development Programme which is delivered across all Postgraduate Programmes in Aston Business School.   

Educated to A-level or equivalent, with at least a Grade C in GCSE Maths and English, you will have experience of working in a customer focused environment, ideally within the Higher Education sector.   Excellent written and verbal skills are essential for the role, along with the ability to work without close supervision.  Experience of working with SITS and Blackboard VLE is also desirable.
