We are seeking to appoint 2 posts at Teaching Fellow level in Computer Science to join an expanding and collegiate team of computer scientists.

Working as part of the Institute of Coding, the Computer Science department will be delivering Skills Bootcamps as part of the government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs. Our Skills Bootcamps in Software Engineering are 12 week online, part time courses that allow learners to study in a flexible manner.

You will have experience of teaching programming and data management to students with no or little prior experience. The languages used for teaching will be Java and SQL so you should have practical experience of both Java (or a similar O-O language), SQL and modern IDEs. You will need a good understanding of the development life-cycle and be able to articulate that and the appropriate programming concepts clearly to students. You should have experience of teaching in a high-intensity bootcamp-like or lab-based environment and of providing clear and timely feedback to students. You will be qualified to at least degree level, ideally in Computer Science or a related discipline.

To support the demand for Skills Bootcamps, we are looking for enthusiastic teachers, well versed in designing and delivering online courses that meet the study requirements of specific learner audiences.

Please note: Redeployees will be given priority consideration for vacancies.
