Behavioural Scientist – KTP Associate

with up to £3,500 dedicated personal development budget

This role is an exciting opportunity for candidates with an Hons degree (1st Class/ 2.1) and a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline. The candidate should also ideally demonstrate an understanding of the challenges and benefits of collaborative projects through their experience of working in either industry or research.

This is a multidisciplinary project, which will challenge the associate to develop new skills, work as part of a multifunctional team and to communicate and defend ideas to colleagues at all levels and functions in the business. They should be cognizant of the commercial imperatives of the company and the business outcomes of the project; have strong interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator, to enable them to work alongside healthcare marketing and research staff effectively. In this role they would be involved in determining future disease areas for investigation, potentially provide consultancy services to pharma clients and have the opportunity to be directly involved in Alpharmaxim’s growth.  You will also receive up to £3,500 dedicated personal development budget.

Personal attributes:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in a multidisciplinary project team. Strong organisational skills, the ability to take project ownership, co-ordinate work-streams and achieve agreed objectives. 

The Company: Alpharmaxim is a long-established (since 2001) specialist marketing communications agency in the healthcare sector, that helps pharmaceutical companies educate the medical community about their products or services. Pharmaceutical and biotech companies (biopharma) bring products to market with the aim of satisfying an unmet medical need, either for the treatment of an otherwise untreated disease OR for the improved treatment of a disease. Aston University: You will work in a multidisciplinary project team alongside academic staff at Aston University and the Senior Management Team at Alpharmaxim Ltd as well as Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Adviser.

Location: You will be based predominantly at Alpharmaxim in Altrincham but will also have access to facilities at Aston University in central Birmingham. Some travel to key clients may also be required. Altrincham has been voted the ‘best place to live’ in the North West of England (as voted by the Sunday Times) for the last two years in a row.
