The Aston Professional Engineering Centre is a unique team within the University who deliver degrees, apprenticeships and continuing professional development to industry and partners on a distance learning, part time and block release basis. In addition we also collaborate with a number of international partners to jointly deliver degrees in country.  We have a number of large high profile partners and employers who sponsor their employees on our courses. If you are an experienced administrator who has experience of working with partner organisations, enjoys variety in their role and using their own initiative, then this role could be right for you. Although previous experience in a higher education establishment administering courses is desirable. full training within a supportive team environment will be given to the right applicant.  

You will provide administrative support with a particular focus on courses being delivered internationally, although as part of a cross functional team, there will be the opportunity to be involved in the courses delivered to industry within the UK also. The post holder will play a key role in supporting academic staff both at Aston University and partners, employers, and students undertaking the courses. You will act as a first point of contact for international programmes and respond to queries from staff and students.

Applicants should be educated to A Level or equivalent standard, with strong IT skills. Excellent administrative and organisational skills gained through all-round office experience is required. The post holder will be required to communicate extensively not only internally but also externally with partners and some travel may be required. Previous experience of working in an external customer facing role is essential with the ability to show strong stakeholder management skills. Experience of working in higher education with international courses is desirable.
