The School has been awarded an EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) grant to develop the UK Manufacturing Symbiosis NetworkPlus (UKMSN+), which will promote, support, facilitate and stimulate the creation of a UK-wide community of academics and practitioners who will address key challenges and opportunities for industrial transitions to the circular economy. The UKMSN+ will adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to exploiting enabling mechanisms and tools to facilitate and support the development of industrial symbiosis synergies in the UK manufacturing industry. UKMSN+ will fund a series of exploratory studies that will establish a scientific basis and pave the way for the development of further research that can effectively promote significant advancements on business models, digital technologies and novel materials that enable deeper, rather than peripheral, manufacturing transformations toward the circular economy.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant research community. The post holder will contribute to the successful delivery of the UKMSN+ project, being responsible for project management activities such as business engagement, organisation of dissemination events and workshops, management of the project budget and monitoring of the project in compliance with the requirements of the EPSRC.

You will have a University degree and project management experience, including working with funded projects involving budget management activities. Outstanding organisation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and well-developed interpersonal and team-working skills are essential qualities for the post.
