Cyber Intelligence Strategic Lead – KTP Associate

Salary:  £32,000 per annum

This role is an exciting opportunity for candidates qualified to MSc level or corresponding apprenticeship level, ideally with a first degree in a Business and Computing or related subject area, followed by a Masters/ MBA focused on Business/ Operations management with relevant IT modules.

This KTP project aims to support Blue Screen IT (BIT) to establish, develop and manage a new R&D business unit with the potential to developing a ‘spinout’ organisation. Working closely with BIT's existing Cybersecurity, Training and Community departments through collaboration and thought leadership, it will develop the next generation of platforms and technologies within the cybersecurity/Intelligence industry.

Candidate Profile: Qualified to MSc level or corresponding apprenticeship level, ideally with a first degree in a Business and Computing or related subject area, followed by a Masters/ MBA focussed on Business/ Operations management with relevant IT modules.

Key skills/ experience required include:

  • Experience/ knowledge in the cybersecurity field either through their education or work experience
  • Knowledge of process mapping/ simulation, process improvement and qualitative research would be a distinct advantage.

Personal attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive attitude to cope with the typical day-to-day challenges encountered in working in a technology-based industry
  • Work independently on own initiative as and when required
  • Ability to work closely with BIT staff at all levels and embed the new skills through collaborative working, so good interpersonal skills will also be required.
  • Some experience of project management is desirable 
  • High level of maturity to deliver a strategic project which encompasses the sensitive issue of culture change and will need to be mindful of each employee's potential reactions to introduced changes.
  • Self-motivated and confident with good persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Fit in with the organisational culture and present a positive image of the company to clients

Aston University: You will work in a project team with Dr Anitha Chinnaswamy, Professor Vladlena Benson, Mariam Garibyan from the Aston Business School, and the Senior Management Team at Bluescreen IT Ltd with the support of the IUK’s Knowledge Transfer Adviser.  

Location: You will be based predominantly at Blue Screen IT Limited in Cambridgeshire but will also have access to facilities at Aston University in central Birmingham. Some travel to key clients may also be required. Blue Screen IT Limited, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge
