This post provides a chance to shape and enhance the student learning experience.</p><p>Candidates must hold a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (or HEA Fellowship) with proven experience in high-quality teaching and assessment within Biosciences.&nbsp;Essential skills include designing engaging learning materials, leading modules, supporting students, and contributing to curriculum enhancement.&nbsp;Applicants should have strong communication and organisational skills, experience using VLEs such as Blackboard, and the ability to apply pedagogic research to teaching practice.             <p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p id="isPasted" style="text-align: justify;">The Aston Institute of Health and Neurodevelopment (IHN) is seeking to appoint a support officer for academic research projects across our two magnetoencephalography (MEG) facilities and in the context of our wider neuroimaging and virtual reality research infrastructure. &nbsp;The post-holder will drive technical and training aspects of the MEG activities, both on a day-to-day basis and in supporting development of the future applications of MEG. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The IHN is a specialist research facility with a focus on research with children and young people, &ldquo;from molecules to minds&rdquo;. We have an active and well-established MEG research group, and are equipped with both cryogenic and helium-OPM MEG systems which are used in both basic and clinical research.&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Duties for the successful applicant will involve supporting facility users (academic staff and their research fellows and PhD students) to develop and deliver outstanding research. &nbsp;This will include:</p><ul type="disc"><li style="text-align: justify;">Advanced technical support for experimental design and implementation of MEG studies.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Developing and advancing techniques for data analysis pipelines.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Training users to use the equipment safely and competently in best practice for MEG acquisition.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Day-to-day management of MEG facilities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">The ideal candidate will:</p><ul type="disc"><li style="text-align: justify;">Have a strong technical background, and enjoy working with machines.&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Be comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software challenges.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Be a confident and adaptable programmer, able to work effectively with the key discipline-specific software environments including open-source packages for MEG data analysis.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Be good at working with people, approachable, and able to help drive a productive and collegiate working environment.&nbsp;</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Become able to train and support users.</li></ul><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;">Experience in offering training, and hands-on experience in neuroimaging are desirable but not essential.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>This role is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.<br></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><br></strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What

            <p id="isPasted">The Department of Psychology is seeking to appoint a lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology to contribute to, develop and enhance the research and teaching activities of the school independently, and as part of a team, through professional practice and expertise.</p><p>The Department of Psychology is closely allied with Institute of Health and Neurodevelopment. Our world-class research facilities include:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Family friendly Neuropsychology Assessment Labs.</li><li>The Aston Nutrition and Behaviour Laboratory (ANBL), which includes dedicated kitchen facilities, a child-friendly observation room with Tracksys multi-perspective observation system and Observer software including Facereader.</li><li>An ensuite sleep laboratory.</li><li>The Aston Laboratory for Immersive Virtual Environments (ALIVE) with a dedicated VR facility that includes the world&rsquo;s largest rectilinear CAVE, a Vicon 12 camera motion capture lab, omnidirectional treadmills, driving simulator, and various head-mounted displays.</li><li>The Aston Neuroimaging Facilities (ANF) including a 3T MRI, 306 Channel MEG various EEG systems, Magstim TMS system (single-pulse, repetitive), and a Starstim HD tES-EEG system.</li></ul><p>Candidates may be in the early stages of their academic career but should demonstrate an established track record of research excellence and publications appropriate for their stage. Candidates should also possess a track record in securing research funding, or the potential to attract such funding, with a clear ambition to develop programmes of research that will be recognised internationally as excellent.</p><p>The successful candidate will join an open and inclusive community of Psychologists, contributing to the delivery of accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Psychology.
