Aston Medical School is a vibrant new medical school that admitted its first undergraduate students in 2018 and received full approval, from the General Medical Council, to award medical degrees in April 2023. It is focused on promoting social mobility and leadership qualities and provides highly interactive learning experiences for our students.
We now seek a skilled Teaching Fellow to lead teaching, assessment and quality management in public and global health. The appointed person will act as Block Lead for the Global and Public Health curriculum in Phase 1, will offer subject expertise for the Phase 2 curriculum in the MBChB, as well as the Masters of Public Health programme in the medical school in future.
You will have an excellent track record in the relevant field, with a rising trajectory and evidence of commitment and impact through current teaching, assessment and scholarship.
The teaching emphasises clinical relevance throughout, and the methods used require expertise with learning technologies for online teaching and tutoring, and also include large and small group lecturing and practical workshops.
A track record of scholarly educational development and delivery would be desirable along with a passion for enabling student learning, and an enthusiasm for cross-discipline working with colleagues across the University and NHS.
We encourage informal discussions of the post; please contact: Dr Claire Stocker, Phase 1 Lead: c.stocker@aston.ac.uk
