Reporting to the Head of Research Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial administration of a range of research grants and contracts for specified areas of the University. The role encompasses preparing costings for grant applications, project financial management and monitoring against forecasts and budgets for projects, ensuring financial milestones are completed on time, and providing proactive financial advice to budget holders and project leads.
To succeed in this role you will be studying towards AAT or part qualified or have relevant financial administration skills. Establishing rapport and credibility with customers is vital as is the need for a high level of accuracy.

The salary being offered for this role is below the minimum threshold for required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker route. However, Aston University may be able to sponsor the successful candidate if they:
• Are under 26 years old
• Hold a PhD that is relevant to the role
• Have held a Student or Graduate visa in the last 2 years
• Are already in the UK with a Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa issued before April 4th 2024
