The Aston Department of Engineering Systems & Supply Chain Management (ESSCM) is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to work with industry in the Shropshire region on various projects supporting agri-tech. The post is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is supporting small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) based within this region.

You will be working with colleagues with expertise in a range of supply chain domains (including purchasing, logistics, enterprise resource planning and production operations). This is an opportunity to become a member of a vibrant team with a successful track record. It is a particularly exciting time as the group is extending its research activities in a number of areas, including supporting the food and agri-tech industries.

You should have a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant subject. Exceptionally, candidates with a strong BSc and MSc or equivalent in these fields may be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven expertise and a good research record. Previous work experience in industry and particularly with SMEs would be advantageous. The ability to both conduct independent research and to work effectively as a member of a team is essential. The level of appointment will depend on the qualifications and relevant experience of the successful applicants.
