This is a key role within Aston’s Research and Knowledge Exchange Department, also working with colleagues across the three academic Colleges and most Professional Service Departments. The successful candidate will have experience and a good working knowledge of the UK University Sector, in particular the areas of Research and Impact. They will lead on strategy for use and optimisation of research management systems, and the collection and analysis of data concerning key research indicators.
The successful candidate will be experienced in data analysis, leading on the monitoring, benchmarking and reporting on a range of research indicator data. They will also play an important part in the long-term plans for the preparation of the next REF exercise, with a particular emphasis on data analysis concerning research funding, output evaluation and Aston’s research environment.
The role holder will be the University’s expert in research management systems. Systems management, functionality and development are all important parts of this role, and the successful candidate will liaise with both suppliers and end users. There is an important service role to play through proactive engagement with the academic community and professional services, and the development and delivery of end user training.
This full time, permanent position reports to the Director of Research Strategy, Funding and Impact and is part of a high-performing, supportive and friendly team, which includes people with a mix of backgrounds, interests and skills.
