An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated person with an attention to detail to join a busy Maintenance & Engineering Team within the Estates and Capital Developments department at Aston University.
Reporting to the M&E Team Supervisor the successful candidate will carry out compliance inspections of life safety systems and minor repair works at the Aston University Birmingham City Centre campus and Recreation Centre in Walsall. This includes the periodic inspection/ testing of emergency lighting, fire alarms, water temperatures, fire doors, replacing lamps in light fittings, responding to drainage blockages etc.
Applicants must have good written and spoken English skills. Accuracy, attention to detail and high level of organisation are a prerequisite. A strong customer service focus is essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal contacts at various levels.
Full in-house training will be provided to fulfil the duties of this role, however it is essential for candidates to have a fair understanding of electrical systems and to have an analytical thought process.
